TAD NewsDesk, New Delhi: The farmers have been staging a protest in the Delhi-UP Ghazipur border since Thursday. It is in continuation of the protest in the borders of Delhi since November 2020 seeking the repeal of the three centre farm laws.

After the environment became very hostile on the Republic day tractor rally, the situation is tensed between the farmers and the Police.

The Ghaziabad administration has given an ultimatum to the protestors to vacate the site by tonight but they have clearly refused to do so. The farmers also said that they won’t be intimidated by the warnings.

There is a fear of confrontation and the police have deployed heavy security on the site. senior officials said that such measures have been taken after the brutal sights of January 26 in Delhi.

Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh government had directed officials to ensure an end to all the farm protests in the state.

Rakesh Tikait, Bharatiya Kisan Union spokesperson said that the farmers would not surrender to the government.
He further added that he is willing to go to the extent of committing suicide but not willing to give up on the protest or leave the site.
In a broken state, Mr Tikait said

“There is a conspiracy against us. Now, I will not surrender even if the police fires bullets at us.”

Samyukta Kisan Morcha, who was responsible for organizing  the tractor rally largely said,

“We will not be intimidated by the notices being sent by the Delhi Police and will respond to the same. The BJP government along with its state governments, is trying its best to put an end to this movement by blaming SKM for the events of 26th January and this is not acceptable. The police are doing their best to evacuate several dharnas.”

The commuters faced hardships to cross the Delhi Ghazipur border in the day time. Delhi Police took to Twitter to announce the closure of the border, the tweet said,

“Gazipur border closed. Traffic diverted from NH 24, NH 9, Road no 56, 57 A, Kondli, Paper market, Telco T point, EDM Mall, Akshardham & Nizammudin Khatta. Traffic is very heavy in the area & Vikas marg. “

The rising chaos has also spread far and wide from the protesting Ghazipur site. After Rakesh Tikait broke down in front of the media, thousands of supporters gathered in Muzaffarnagar following a call for mahapanchayat in support of the Bharatiya Kisan Union led protest against the Centre’s new farm laws.

The tension that was build up during the republic day has still not assorted and is still causing chaos, a sense of fear and aggrandized situation everywhere is creating a sense of distrust among both the parties.
