30,000 farmers march to reach Delhi by December 26 and 27

On December 27, appeal to the people to beat 'thalis' at thier homes as a mark of protest

TAD NewsDesk, New Delhi: The Bhartiya Kisan Union (Ekta-Ugrahan) today announced that over 30,000 farmers will join the protests at the Delhi borders on December 26 and 27.

A total number of 15,000 protesters will join from Kannauri border on December 26 and another 15,000 will join from the Dabwali on December 27. This will also be a time to mark one month anniversary of protests since the first march to Delhi.

The Union emphasized that the sacrifices made by the farmers in the ‘Kisan Andolan’ will be regarded and given respect to and this will not be going to be a waste.

State president of the organisation Joginder Singh Ugrahan and state secretary Shingara Singh Mann said in response to the call of Sanyukta Kisan Morcha said that after the gatherings organised on December 20 in villages of Punjab, memorial processions will take place to pay homage to the farmers. It will happen on December 21, 22 and 23. On December 24, block level tribute function will take place.

To invest more endeavour in the Delhi Morcha, a Delhi Chalo campaign will be organized by a special committee formed for the purpose. The committee will organise activities to mobilise people to go to Delhi and work t strengthen the morcha.

The union also said that on December 27, during PM Modi’s ‘Mann ki Baat’ an appeal would be made to the people to beat ‘thali’ at their homes as a mark of protest and resistance.

The leaders said that the right to protest and agitate has been upheld by the Supreme Court and they would continue with the agitation.
