TAD NewsDesk, Bangaluru: Bengaluru based Start up, Agdhi very recently launched an AI-based tech to check the quality of seeds. The traditional method of detecting seeds depend upon a manual inspection which might not be accurate and also varies according to people. The process is also hectic and has loopholes in it.
The firm said that the AI-based technology is equipped with
- Photometry
- Radiometry
- Computer vision
This will improve the efficiency of the process of selecting and detecting the seeds.
The colour, texture, size, and shape, is extracted from images of seeds, and the defects of the seed are identified through various classifiers based on computer vision. This automation provides an efficient method for seed sorting than being inspected by human labour, it said in a statement.
Nikhil Das, Agdhi Founder said
Mr Nikhil added that the company is further working upon other technological developments which includes:
- Blockchain
- Edge computing
- AI
- Internet of Things (IoT)
Microbiology in agriculture
This new development brought about by this new start up will also bring a technical revolution of sorts into the field of agriculture. Mostly India based farmers have been sticking to the old traditional method of sorting and detecting the seeds with their subjective lenses. And with big plots of land, it becomes difficult for farmers to continue with the sorting process manually.
