TAD News Desk, New Delhi: Mr.Ashok Gehlot led Rajasthan Government has provided relief to agriculture traders by extending the interest waiver scheme till December 31 to clear up the outstanding dues. The government complied with the agricultural marketing department’s proposal in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The proposal stated the outstanding dues of 68 crores up till September 30, including mandi allocation fees and other arrears by the state agriculture department.
The interest waiver scheme exempted 75 per cent of the principal balances’ interests were deposited, and the remaining 25 per cent of interest was due till March 31, 2020.
The pandemic has also led to the amnesty scheme’s extension, first till September 30 and now till December 31.
The demands of various agriculture traders’ associations have been met by extending the deadlines of these schemes. They would help traders of fruits and vegetables broadly, a statement announced.
Gehlot also cleared the proposal to waive off the mandi and farmers’ welfare fees for pulses and oilseeds’ trade at MSP (minimum support price) for this Kharif season. A notification would be issued in this regard.
The central government has issued the waiver guidelines on the purchase, transportation, storage, and sale of moong, urad, groundnut, and soybean at support price this Kharif season in the state.
The Gehlot government has agreed to pay remuneration to guest faculties of ITI institutions working in the lockdown period to keep the virus spread in check. One thousand sixty-six faculties would get compensation for this period costing around 4.3 crore on the state.
