It also commented that since 2011, its online platform FLRS (Food Licensing and Registration System) is the spirit behind all of the licensing ecosystem. It is functional in all the states across the country and 70 lakh licenses/enlistments have been given till date while more than 40 lakh licensees/registrants are effectively executing transactions on it.
The announcement said,
“FSSAI is dispatching its cloud based, updated new food safety compliance online platform called FoSCoS, (URL: https://foscos.fssai.gov.in). It will supplant the current FLRS (URL https://foodlicensing.fssai.gov.in).”
In this ongoing Pandemic, if anything, the realization to have access to safe and hygienic food has been underlined as the primary duty. The protocol of food safety standards should be the first priority that the country should address and (FoSCoS) is a significant step towards that.
