TAD NewsDesk New Delhi: PM Kisan scheme which aims at doing direct money transfer to the accounts of the farmers go to aid them is to release its next instalment.  A transfer of ₹18,000 crores will be made to 80 million farmers. Moreover, the Prime Minister will also chat with some of them virtually on Christmas Day as informed by the agricultural ministry.

PM Modi released the first instalment in the year 2019 and will do so again amidst the enraging farmers protest against the agriculture reform acts. According to the government, these reforms will help grow the agriculture sector and will enable the market to grow larger and better.

One official commented,

“It will be a freewheeling conversation. The Prime Minister is likely to talk about the new farm laws and how they will benefit farmers.”

Under PM-Kisan, the government provides income support of ₹6,000 a year to farmers with a valid enrolment, paid in three equal cash transfers of ₹2,000 — one every four months. It was launched on February 24, 2019, when the first instalment was paid.

The official added that the PM will have an interactive session with the farmers where he would try to gain some insight on how the farmers have benefitted from the scheme. He would also possibly focus on the selection of crops and the farmers’ expectation from the budget.

The focus would also be laid to know the ground reality of farming as a sector. PM Modi will seek response from the farmers.

The farmers will join from across the country by means of the panchayat.

PM Modi tweeted on Thursday,

“Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has expressed his feelings by writing a letter to the farmer brothers and sisters, attempting to have a polite dialogue. I request all the farmers to read it.”

Amidst the farmers’ intense protest, a dialogue with them and a response how it will turn out we will have to see. The farmers have been protesting on the borders of Delhi since more than a month long time.
