TAD NewsDesk, Rajasthan: The government of Rajasthan is standing resolute in its opposition to the Centre’s farm laws. According to a senior minister of Congress, to express its concern and firm stand with the farmers, it has decided to pass a Bill in the state assembly on October 31.

In a tweet by K.C. Venugopal, Congress national general secretary (organisation) said, following Punjab in its stand, the Rajasthan government has also decided to pass a bill against the Centre’s three agricultural bills on October 31.

He also added that Congress is committed to protecting farmers and their rights and also congratulated the Ashok Gehlot led government.

The Punjab assembly passed four Bills recently to oppose the farm laws and the Rajasthan government will work along the same lines.

According to a notification issued by the Rajasthan Legislative Secretariat, the Rajasthan state assembly was adjourned on August 24, 2020, but a new session will be held on October 31, 2020.

State BJP chief spokesman Ramlal Sharma said his party will vehemently oppose the bill in the assembly.

Spokesman Sharma said that the extreme majors that the state government is trying to bring for the traders sentencing 3 years jail time if they buy the farmers produce at any price below the MSP are unjustified.

The government buys only 8-10 % of the yield and the rest is to be bought by the traders. If the government makes such stringent norms they will not come to buy the yield said, Mr Sharma.

Since both the parties have given very different opinions on the Bill, it will be a matter of time and the events to follow which will tell the positives and negatives of the situation.
