TAD NewsDesk, Rajasthan: The digital technology solutions provider, Stellapps has launched a new app specifically for dairy farmers. ‘MooPay’ will be a fully automated direct payment platform for these farmers. This facility will be started in Rajasthan as of now.
This digital platform will be first of its kind in the dairy sector.
Stellaps, is an IIT Madras based dairy-tech startup and World Economic Forum’s technology pioneer too. They have launched the app in the Bhilwara district in Rajasthan. In the launch, Chairman of Bhilwara Dairy Union (Saras Dairy), Ramlal Jat, LK Jain, Advisor to the Union, and Asha Sharma, MD of the Dairy were present.
Advantages of MooPay:
- It acts as a payment gateway for dairies to make payments to registered farmers without spending on transferring money to thousands of farmers in hundreds of villages.
- This app also allows the officials to make payment directly to the member farmers in their savings bank account from the dairies existing bank account.
Chairman, Ramlal Jat commented on the important development:
“Stellapps has helped us bridge the gap between the farmers and the dairy union and increased transparency. Online payment enabled by Stellapps has also helped us reduce cost and eliminate the risk of Covid transmission during transactions”.
Transparency:
MooPay also enables transparency and assures the correct quantity and quality of milk. The company has established display units which will help the farmers keep a track of that. As per some reports, the app will automatically have the payment data from the IoT devices established in the villages.
