TAD NewsDesk, Haryana: J P Dalal, Haryana’s Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister announced a scheme for the farmers of the state. The farmers producing horticultural and vegetable products will get insurance.

The scheme would provide Rs 40000 per acre to the farmers.

The crops covered under the scheme are:

  • Onions
  • Potatoes
  • Tomatoes
  • Green chillies
  • Turmeric
  • Mango
  • Garlic
  • Guava

Besides, there are ten other vegetables listed along with two other horticultural crops.

This scheme aims to provide aid to the farmers during the ongoing pandemic. It is a step forward so that the farmers don’t have to borrow money in times of need from the agents who are popularly known as Arthiyas. This would also stay as protection to any losses or fallbacks the farmers have during and after the production procedure.

Mr Dalal accused Congress of misleading the farmers about the new scheme. He asserted that the BJP led Central and state governments are putting all the efforts to help farmers in the best way possible. He also added that along with far produce the farmers should also benefit from other means which includes animal husbandry.

Regarding the new farm amendment bills and the Minimum Support Price, it will continue as before. Mr Dalal asked the farmers not to believe in the surreptitious chain of arguments provided by the opposition and have faith in the current ruling government.

State governments across the country increasingly are bringing out new schemes in aid of the farmers after the deep chaos of the new farm bills.
