TAD NewsDesk, New Delhi: Under the Kisan Kalyan Mission, Yogi government will be felicitating 100 “progressive farmers” from each district. The scheme would cover a total of 7,500 farmers across the state. The scheme would be initiated from January 6.
State chief secretary, R.K Tiwari mentioned in a letter to all the district magistrates that,
“100 progressive farmers in each district will be selected as role models and be felicitated and their database will be prepared.”
Moreover, he added that farmers fairs will be organized in the state of Uttar Pradesh where MP’s and MLA’s would be invited to educate farmers about the new farm laws and enlighten them with the benefits of the new scheme by the Centre. Some of the new beneficial schemes for farmers are:
- Kisan Credit Cards
- PM Kisan Samman Nidhi
- PM Fasal Bima Yojana
Farmers will also be encouraged to go for organic farming methods along with it also solutions like the use of stubble as fodder for animals in sheds so that the stubble burning could stop will also be imparted. Stubble burning from many years has been leading to a huge amount of air pollution.
Kisan Credit Cards will be issued on spot in these Farmers fair and any issues related to the PM Kisan Nidhi instalments will be resolved.
This Kisan Kalyan Mission will continue for three months till all the blocks are covered. As of now, 350 blocks are being covered in the first phase. The representatives of the Farmer Producer Organisations (FPO’s) will also be invited for these fairs.
The letter further mentions that the farmers will be made aware of the state’s efforts in procuring the Kharif crops and others on MSP. After the enactment of the three farm laws by the Centre, the farmers has been on the crossroads with the government. Hence, this might also be an attempt on part of the UP government to make a truce and let the farmers know of things from their perspectives.
