The University of East Anglia (UEA) is a university in Norwich, England, established in 1963, which says it is home to over 17,000 students. Its campus is on the Norwich Research Park, which UEA describes as a centre for environment, health and plant science research.

UEA does not have a separate agriculture faculty. Plant and crop research sits mainly in the School of Biological Sciences, whose Plant Sciences Theme includes groups in The Sainsbury Laboratory and, the university says, has close associations with the John Innes Centre. The theme studies plant resistance to parasites and pathogens, molecular and physiological adaptations to biotic and abiotic stress, signalling in plant responses to disease and RNA silencing as an antiviral mechanism; its funding comes primarily from the BBSRC and the Gatsby Foundation. The school runs an MSc in Plant Genetics and Crop Improvement. In February 2016 UEA was among UK institutions that signed a crop science memorandum of understanding with India’s Department of Biotechnology.
