Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT) is a national university corporation with campuses in Fuchu and Koganei, Tokyo. Its history page traces its roots to an agricultural training institute of 1874 and records its establishment under the current name in 1949, with a Faculty of Agriculture and a Faculty of Textile, later renamed the Faculty of Engineering.

The Faculty of Agriculture, on the Fuchu campus, has five departments: Biological Production, Applied Biological Science, Environmental and Natural Resource Sciences, Ecoregion Science and the Cooperative Department of Veterinary Medicine. Research sits in the Institute of Agriculture, whose divisions include Environmental and Agricultural Engineering. The university says its Field Science Center, founded in 2000, uses eight sites across a 100-kilometre area of Tokyo, including forest and farmland. Other units include a centre for the prevention of global infectious diseases of animals and a Scleroprotein and Leather Research Institute, which the university says works with the Nippi Research Institute of Biomatrix and the Nipponham Research and Development Center.
