SynTech Research Group, an agricultural contract research and regulatory services provider, announced on 6 October 2026 the launch of SynTech India Regulatory Services Private Limited. The announcement says the new company extends SynTech’s regulatory and scientific services platform into India. It will serve agrochemical, biological, plant nutrition and seed companies developing and commercialising products in India and abroad.

What the new company will offer

According to SynTech, the Indian company will support clients through the product lifecycle with:

  • product development and performance research trials;
  • regulatory field studies and data generation;
  • residue, shelf-life and environmental fate programme management;
  • coordination of GLP laboratory studies through qualified laboratory partners;
  • regulatory consulting, registration support and coordination of trials with universities and research institutions;
  • global registration strategy and market access support for products aimed at India, North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia-Pacific.

SynTech says the company will combine local regulatory expertise with the group’s global network of scientific, regulatory, analytical and field research professionals to help clients deal with regulatory requirements and speed up product development.

What is not disclosed

SynTech did not say where in India the company is based, who will lead it, how many people it will employ, how much the group is investing or whether it has signed clients. The announcement does not name the Indian regulators the company will deal with, and it does not say whether the Indian company will hold any laboratory accreditation of its own. No executive is quoted.

The group already lists India among its locations in Asia, alongside the Philippines, China, Japan, Thailand and Vietnam, on its website. It says it has more than 800 scientists working in field stations, laboratories and regulatory services locations in over 40 countries, serving agrochemical, biosolutions and seed customers. According to its company history, SynTech Research was founded on 11 December 1999 by Dr Khosro Khodayari and three former colleagues from Zeneca Agrochemicals, now Syngenta, starting with bioefficacy and residue services in California’s Central Valley. It moved its global headquarters to Stilwell, Kansas, in 2012, merged with Acceres, which included GAB Consulting, in 2020, and formally created SynTech Research Group in 2021. In 2025 it acquired AgIdea, a Latin American contract research organisation, and GLP Estrategias Avanzadas, a Mexican regulatory consultancy.

The GrowinAgri Daily newsletter reported the launch on 7 October. SynTech separately said it will exhibit at the Annual Biocontrol Industry Meeting (ABIM) in Basel from 20 to 22 October 2026.

TAD’s reading

  • For Indian input makers: Registration data is a fixed cost for every new molecule, formulation, biological or nutrient product. More contract capacity for field, residue and shelf-life studies could help firms that lack in-house regulatory teams, if pricing and turnaround are competitive.
  • For foreign companies entering India: A locally incorporated service company may make India-specific data packages easier to commission, but SynTech has not said how quickly it can deliver them.
  • For Indian exporters: The stated focus on global registration strategy works in both directions, and could appeal to Indian generic and biological makers seeking approvals in North America, Europe and Latin America.
  • Watch: The company’s real capacity will depend on the laboratory partners and staff it has not yet named.
