Sumo UK Ltd designs and builds cultivation and seeding machinery at Melbourne, near York. The company says it was established in 1991, launched its Trio cultivator in 2001, moved to its current premises in 2009, entered drill manufacturing in 2010 and became part of the Elsham Wold Estates Group in 2015.
Its range covers deep tillage, shallow tillage, seed drilling and grassland machinery, with products including subsoilers, the Trio, Quatro and Vaxio cultivators, the DTS deep tillage seeder and the DD direct drill. The company says its machines are sold and serviced through approved dealers, that its distribution network operates in more than 30 countries, and that a parts department supplies dealers with genuine components. It describes its focus as conservation agriculture.
