Bateman Sprayers is the trading name of R. J. Bateman Engineering Ltd, which designs and builds self-propelled crop sprayers at Bycott Lane, Chulmleigh, in North Devon. The company says it began in 1976, when Richard Bateman built the Agilator, a low ground pressure sprayer, for the heavy clay soils on his own farm, and that neighbouring farmers then asked for machines.

Its current range is the RB30, RB40, RB50 and RB60. Options listed on its site include VG and Contour booms, Pinpoint III pulse width modulation, boom levelling, AI powered spot spraying and an accurate fertiliser system. The company also sells used sprayers and used parts and has sales, service and parts departments. It says its sprayers are used by farmers, growers and contractors in the UK and other countries.
