TAD NewsDesk, Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan (Madhya Pradesh) proclaimed a yearly direct cash transfer of Rs 4,000 to farmers registered as recipients of PM Samman Nidhi scheme. He also vowed to follow benefitted steps to double farmer’s income by the year 2022.
As per government officials, approximately 80 lakh farmers in the state who are recipients of PM Samman Nidhi will presently receive Rs 10,000 yearly as a relief amount. It combines Rs 6,000 from PM Samman Nidhi and Rs 4,000 from the state. The state will give relief fund in two regular installments of Rs 2,000 each.
C.M. Chouhan stated at a function arranged for farmers in Bhopal, “Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojna (chief minister farmer’s welfare scheme) is being introduced in Madhya Pradesh. Under the scheme, the beneficiaries of PM Samman Nidhi—farmers’ families–will get Rs 4,000 in two equal installments.”
He said, “We have decided that all the schemes meant for farmers like relief under revenue circular book (RCB), PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, loans at zero per cent interest rate, Prime Minister crop insurance scheme etc will be implemented in a package for the sake of holistic development of farmers.”
C.M. Chouhan further added, “We implemented again the government’s scheme to provide loans to farmers at zero per cent interest rate. The farmers were given benefits of Pradhan Mantri Samman Nidhi and crop insurance scheme. Farmers were given more than Rs 27,000 crore against procurement of food grains. We will not spare any effort to double the income of farmers until 2022.”
Though, Congress belittled the declaration and stated it was probable like earlier declarations which ‘failed’ to issue any assistance to farmers in reality.
He enlisted his government’s endeavors to assure the advantage of several welfare programmes reached the farmers while pledging to progress towards increasing their income by 2022.
