TAD NewsDesk, New Delhi: Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) said they do not have any plans right now of getting involved in contract farming. They have also denied any claims of buying any land for agricultural purposes.
RIL will file a petition against the vandalism and destruction of property on account of the farmers’ protest. They also claimed that some third parties are taking advantage of the farmer’s protest. With the help of the farmers’ agitation, they are launching an incessant, malicious & motivated vilification campaign against the company, which has absolutely no basis in truth.
Moreover, RIL also emphasized that they do not buy the food grains directly from the farmers and their suppliers buy it only at the MSP.
RIL said,
“We shall insist on our suppliers to strictly abide by the Minimum Support Price (MSP) mechanism, and/or any other mechanism for a remunerative price for farm produce, as may be determined and implemented by the government.”
RIL requested the High courts of Punjab and Haryana to protect its employees and property from vandalism.
“We at Reliance has immense gratitude and the greatest respect for India’s kisans, who are the ‘ANNA DATA’ of 1.3 billion Indians. We urge the public and the media to be aware of the correct facts and not be misguided by false information and narratives peddled by vested interests for their own gain and benefit” said the company.
According to reports, over 200 towers of Reliance Jio were being vandalized every day in the states of Punjab and Haryana. Currently,1,500 of the 9,000 towers of Reliance Jio have been damaged. The farmers think the company to be complicit in the making of the three Centre farm laws. The rising anger of the farmers had also led to such large outbursts.
The farmers have been demanding persistently to the government to repeal the three laws which they see as the “anti farm laws” and they are continuing with the agitation.
