TAD NewsDesk, Punjab: Since it’s the advent of the rabi season, The Food Corporation of India’s (FCI) Punjab office has requested the director of food, civil supplies and consumer affairs to provide the land records of the farmers. This enquiry has been done in order to pay the Minimum Support Price (MSP) online into the bank accounts.

The March 4 letter said that FCI, Zonal Office (N), Noida, has directed that land records are a must for wheat procurement in RMS 2021-22.

The director has been requested to upload the records on the Annaj Khardi Portal before the commencement of the RMS 2021-22 to make the process smoother.

The letter further states,

“It is requested to share data of land records and convey to the office where to find it so that FCI shall verify land records of farmers during RMS 2021-22 with regard to FCI’s own purchase.”

The Central government has been trying to remove the middleman or arthiyas who used to get it into their accounts and distribute it to the farmers. The government had to pay an additional 2.5% commission to them and hence the government wants to transfer the money directly into the accounts of the farmers.
