TAD NewsDesk, Telangana: Under the Rythu Bandhu scheme, till now 59.26 farmers have benefitted claimed S Niranjan Reddy, Agriculture Minister of Telangana. The State government has spent Rs 35,676 crore in the scheme.
Mr Reddy said that the state is making rapid progress in the agriculture sector by setting new benchmarks everyday. The minister talked about various schemes launched by the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and how it has contributed to the sector as a whole. It was in fact yielding results.
He talked about various projects by the government and not limiting to the irrigation ones. The significance of schemes like Rythu Bandhu & Rythu Bima to instill confidence among cultivators. Under Rythu Bhima, around 47,168 families of the deceased farmers got Rs 2,358.15 crore from Life Insurance Corporation of India.
Talking about their achievements, he said
“We also secured top place in crop booking. The Central Government is implementing Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana based on the crop data provided by the State”.
