TAD NewsDesk, Gujarat: Amul, one of the premier company in the dairy sector of the country has launched its first Camel milk’s ice cream and milk powder. Its wide horizon not only covers India but International markets as well.
Previously, Amul had launched fresh camel milk, focusing on its cooling properties while introducing the product to the Indian Dairy Market.
R S Sodhi, who is the managing director of the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) and handles the Brand marketing of Amul, said that the milk powder is made up of pure Kutch camel’s procured milk. And this milk will have a shelf life of almost 8 months and the entire nation would be able to get access to the milk.
Mr Sodhi also asserted that it would enhance the shelf life of the camel milk distributed by the Kutch camel milk producers. It will also double the camel milk because of the launch of the other products launched.
Moreover, to fulfil the demand in the market for the products won’t be an issue with Amul’s extended network of distribution.
PM Modi on September 2018 in in a gathering at Mogar’s Amul Dairy’s chocolate plant has also exerted the significance of camel milk. He also narrated his experience as a CM in Gujarat when he was ‘scoffed at’ while promoting Camel milk.
Gujarat is presently home to around 1000 camel breeders from different communities which include Rabari, Sama, Fakirani Jat and Sodha. Moreover, it also hosts more than 30,000 camels of Kutchi and Kharai breeds.
